Cao Cao Mobility unveils RoboX AI strategy and announces Hong Kong robotaxi service | Gasgoo

On June 18, 2026, during the 2026 International Automobile & Supply Chain Expo (Hong Kong), CaoCao Mobility announced a comprehensive AI transformation and launched its new RoboX strategy, building a world-leading physical AI mobility technology platform around the trinity development model of “intelligent purpose-built vehicles + intelligent driving technology + intelligent operations“. As the autonomous driving industry gradually transitions from technology validation to the robotaxi commercialization exploration stage, this strategic release also provides a new entry point for observing how enterprises in China’s Robotaxi market are establishing scaled operational capabilities.

For a period of time, the Robotaxi industry’s focus has been more concentrated on autonomous driving technology itself. But when vehicles begin entering real traffic scenarios, the issues faced by robotaxi commercialization change accordingly: how vehicles adapt to high-frequency use, how fleets maintain stable online presence, how energy replenishment and daily O&M are coordinated, and how user demands match autonomous driving capacity. From this perspective, the next-stage competition in China’s Robotaxi market has extended from single-point technological capability to the comprehensive synergy of vehicles, technology, platforms, and operational systems.

The core of the RoboX strategy is to build a trinity capability system of intelligent purpose-built vehicles, intelligent driving technology, and intelligent operations, making vehicles the execution terminals of an intelligent agent, constructing a physical AI operation network that connects digital intelligence with the physical world, and driving AI to truly possess the ability to serve the real world.

Changes in vehicle products are an important manifestation of this approach. During Auto Beijing 2026, Eva Cab—China’s first natively developed purpose-built Robotaxi, with CaoCao Mobility’s deep involvement in product definition and R&D—was officially unveiled. The model adopts a no-front-passenger-seat, steering-wheel-free design and is engineered via forward development for autonomous driving operational scenarios, considering future scaled operational needs at the product design stage. Under current plans, CaoCao Mobility’s deeply customized native purpose-built Robotaxi will enter mass production in 2027, with a target of cumulatively deploying 100,000 Robotaxis by 2030, providing the vehicle foundation for subsequent expansion of operational scale.

Meanwhile, CaoCao Mobility is refining supporting capabilities beyond the vehicle. The company’s Green Intelligent Mobility Hub integrates functions such as automated battery swapping, automated cleaning, vehicle preparation, and smart dispatching, providing the basic guarantees needed for the continuous operation of Robotaxis. For China’s Robotaxi market, as fleet scale expands, vehicle online rate, energy replenishment efficiency, and O&M response speed will directly impact operational efficiency. Therefore, synchronous construction of infrastructure and vehicles has also become an important component of the commercialization system.

Operational capability constitutes another foundation for CaoCao Mobility’s advancement of the Robotaxi business. In the first half of 2026, CaoCao Mobility’s total revenue reached RMB 10.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.0%; among this, mobility service revenue reached RMB 9.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.9%. Period GTV (Gross Transaction Value) reached RMB 12.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%. As of June 30, the company’s services covered 215 cities across China. Average monthly active users reached 44.6 million, a year-on-year increase of 17.1%, with business scale continuously expanding. The long-formed experience in vehicle management, platform dispatching, and user services provides an existing operational system and scenario resources for the autonomous driving business, and also enables Robotaxi to further explore scaled service models through a mature mobility platform.

As the most important commercialization vehicle for Geely Holding Group’s Robotaxi, CaoCao Mobility has not confined its business exploration to the domestic market. In 2026, building on its cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), the company further advanced cooperation with K2 Group and May Mobility to explore robotaxi commercialization deployment and operational models around the Middle East and European markets. The market environments and traffic conditions in different regions will also provide more practical scenarios for the adaptation of related technologies and operational systems.

From the signals released by the RoboX strategy, China’s Robotaxi market is entering a stage that places greater emphasis on commercial efficiency. Autonomous driving technology remains the foundation, but what truly determines scaled operational capability also includes vehicle cost and durability, infrastructure efficiency, platform dispatching capability, and the completeness of the service system. As the RoboX strategy continues to advance and the trinity development model of “intelligent purpose-built vehicles + intelligent driving technology + intelligent operations” is continuously consolidated, CaoCao Mobility is further clarifying its own commercialization path in the scaled process of China’s Robotaxi market.
